During our brief verification call, we only require simple proof of your benefit participation — a photo of your EBT card, Medicaid enrollment letter, SSI award letter, or income documentation such as a W2, tax return, or benefit letter.
Monthly usage is required to maintain your free service. If the phone goes unused for a calendar month, service will be disconnected per Lifeline program rules. Simply use the phone each month — even one text or call counts.
Yes. You can port your current mobile number to the new service. Just notify your Caring for Citizens representative during your verification call and they will coordinate the seamless transition at no cost.
